Vaginal Reconstruction

Vaginal reconstruction procedures are sometimes necessary for women who experienced injury during childbirth, leading to pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse of the uterus, and other problems.

There are three primary areas of concern that can be corrected by vaginal reconstruction:

  • Rectocele – a tear or a bulging in the wall separating the vagina from the rectum.
  • Cystocele – a tear or bulging in the wall separating the vagina from the bladder, which allows the bladder to drop into the vagina, leading to incontinence and incomplete emptying of the bladder.
  • Enterocele – a vaginal hernia or bulging in the pelvic floor that allows the small intestines to descend into the vagina.

The physicians at the Cheyenne Women’s Clinic have been very active in the field of vaginal reconstruction and are trained on the latest technologies and techniques.
